While there is no particular genre that will be sure to provide you with a straightforward road to publication, there are some genres that will be more interesting to agents and publishers due to ongoing demand from readers. Romance, mystery/thriller, and self-help books are among such genres that are likely to be published faster due to the presence of a loyal audience and specific market expectations. In addition to that, children's books and memoirs will also work well provided they have something new to offer. However, one should keep in mind that ease is determined not by the genre but by the way of presenting it, its writing quality, and compliance with current market trends. For example, those new and upcoming authors looking into the best options to publish books in Canada may notice that non-fiction and specialized how-to books have a bit easier road ahead of them.
